I worked closely with pastor Fr. Scot a few times, but we had a falling out that wasn't my choosing which led me to draw a negative conclusion about his character.

We had planned on putting together a church project and it was a "go," except for a definite time. After 2 months of a few brief exchanges with Scot to get him to agree upon that time given the tentative deadline coming up that HE set, and after his repeated "I'll let you know" postponements, I began to suspect I was being strung along. So I approached him in person about it one day after mass because we were supposed to begin that next week! Immediately, he snapped at me with a misplaced irritation, proceeded to get fidgety, and was unable to look me in the eye as he stuttered to give me a straightforward answer. I understand pastors get busy. But this wasn't one of those situations. I quickly deduced that I was dealing with a weak man who couldn't be straightforward with people when he had to let them down (for whatever reason). I had already begun putting the project together, yet it never happened. Scot wasted my time since didn't have the courage to just tell me the truth. There are a few individuals with whom he associates in other organizations who are equally unable to be straightforward, but I will not specify who they are here. I expect integrity from people who are taken to be "leaders" in their communities. For all his Divine Feminine bluster, he might want to put together a workshop on the Divine Masculine virtues of honesty, forthrightness, and nobility of character.

This 'Catholic' Church is not in communion with the Holy See. You might as well go to the Protestants. Only go if you want to worship with Faux-Catholics, essentially attracted to the beauty of the Catholic Faith but unwilling to submit to the authority of the Pope.

  • Church of the Holy Family is an Ecumenical Catholic church that lives up to its name. It is a warm and welcoming church that accepts everyone. It says "all are welcome" and is a testimony to that message. Perfection is not a requirement for the members or for the pastor. This is a loving and caring community. The negative review of another individual by John Doe is unfortunate. I am sure that if she reflects on this, she will recall many positive experiences. We would welcome her back. This church is so much more than an individual's one encounter with another. Come visit us and see for yourself.

  • John Doe, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. But there is nothing courageous or honest about posting an anonymous online review. Church of the Holy Family works very hard to empower lay people at all levels of leadership.

We often hold pastors to impossible standards, but they are human just like the rest of us. Fr. Scott is a man of integrity and cares deeply about his congregation. John Doe, if you truly had an issue, you had several other options before turning to Google.
